The District maintains 200 miles of sewer pipelines, 40 pump stations, 800 acres of wetlands and other facilities with a total value of over $100 million. Like the treatment facilities, these pipelines, recycling systems and other facilities are aging, making them more susceptible to leaks and breaks and unable to meet stricter regulations.

To properly upgrade and maintain the pipelines and pumps will require an ongoing investment of about $2 million per year. These costs are included in the new rate calculations.
